“Mas de la Coixa” is an old field house placed in an exceptional environment in front of the river Ebro. Its refurbishment makes possible to  accommodate a youth hostel and an information and promotion office for tourist activities.

The intervention keeps the original shape, taking full advantage of the existing holes and volumes. The memory of a building that has been built in several periods in time and has always kept its character and dominant appearance, remains.

The building surroundings have been improved also; gardened slopes for the existing level changes and paving with coarse sand the arrival platform enhances the terraced areas facing the cultivation land on the west façade.
